Morte villana...

In VIII Just Before Dying, Zucco quotes a number of literary sources, including the following from Dante Alighieri:

Morte villana, di pietà nemica,
Di dolor madre antica,
Giudicio incontastabile gravoso...
...Di te blasmar la lingua s’affatica.

These lines form the beginning of a sonnet in Capitolo VIII of La Vita Nuova. A parallel translation of the sonnet is available here.

Note that Zucco's rendition misses out two lines of the original (...Poi che hai data matera al cor doglioso/Ond'io vado pensoso...).
